I love spending my days with these kiddos. And we are working hard this last quarter as we prepare for first grade! They are making serious gains! I joke that I am going to just keep them all. Here they are coloring the directed drawing of a leprechaun we did earlier in the day.

Shapes
We finished our math chapter about 2D shapes. Next week we move onto 3D shapes. To celebrate we made objects with shape crackers. Your child's work should be loaded onto Seesaw, but here is a look at our building.
Presidents' Week
This week we learned about our Presidents. Did you know that Abraham Lincoln put his important papers inches hat so he wouldn't lose them!! We made our own Abraham Lincolns and the kids wrote what was important to them that they would put in their hats. Check out our work!
We also read about George Washington and made hats! They were so fun!

Happy 100th Day of School!
There are so many great things happening in our classroom these days! I hope you are seeing the growth in their work! Looking through my pictures I see there is much to share with you! Here are just a few pictures from our 100th Day of School Celebration!
Don't they look great?! Here is a picture of all of Kindergarten!
I love this one of Hailey helping Trey with this suspenders!
Here are some pictures of them playing Race to 100.
What a fun day!
As a side note, I am glad to see so many of you signed up for Seesaw. I hope you are enjoying looking at your child's work. I am experimenting with a variety of sample to share! Here are a few pictures when the kids were using Seesaw for the first time and exploring each others' work.

Looking Around...
There are some moments in our classroom, when I have to stop, look around the room, and take it all in....I love seeing them engaged and enjoying what they are doing. I love watching these kids learn!
Or....they have me fooled and this is the calm before the storm!

Bear Snores On
We love the book Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson. After retelling the story several times in class, we sequenced our retelling strips and glued them on our bear hats. Ask your child to retell the story tonight!
Here we are with our hats!
Of course, they had to show me Bear's angry face when he woke up and saw his friends having a party.
I had to laugh when I saw the bears all tucked away in the mailboxes (dens).
There are many more great books about Bear and his friends...check them out at the library!

A little help from the kids...
Last week I had the kids help with a school project I had for my Graduate class. They got to help create a digital story and it was a great review of rules and why we have them. Here is the story we created! I love hearing their voices.
