This week we started Writer's Workshop! I love this time because it is really where we can see so much growth. Students enter Kindergarten with a wide range of skills and knowledge. It is exciting to see it all come together and watch them write sentences. In the beginning, they can get discouraged because they think they can't really write or they don't know how to spell; however, we just TRY OUR BEST! We learn to write the sounds we hear. On Day 1 we learned that writing is just telling on paper. We used this chart to help us remember our steps.

I can't wait to share their writing with you. When we our down with our first writing unit, we will "publish" or writing and it will go home for you to enjoy!
